Companies Included in the Prototype ChoixVert Information Card
Craig Burton included 47 companies in the prototype version of the ChoixVert Information Card. The companies are taken from the Fortune 500 list of companies chosen by their peers as socially responsible. They have been included in the prototype version to demonstrate how the ChoixVert Information Card works.

"Choix vert" means "green choice". There is a natural presumption about this which I like - after all it implies a decision already made against which no reasonable person could argue!

Cultivate Social Responsibility
Hi Everyone, Welcome to Project ChoixVert.
You have all been invited to join us in the early stages of our project.
First, Project ChoixVert is new and second, I am new to Ning. Craig and I worked through several web programs and services only to realize that what we really wanted was a more interactive space. Since this is a world community project, it seemed more in alignment to what we want to accomplish.
This site is open to all of you to participate. We are all in this together. The planet, the project and this social site. Project ChoixVert is a non-profit organization made up of trustees, and a fast growing group of members.
We are quickly building this site in preparation for our upcoming announcement for v1 of the ChoixVert Information Card. I would like to know what you think about this project as we go along, so please, come back often and add you ideas.
Project ChoixVert is designed to empower eco-diligence by using the ChoixVert Information Card when browsing the Internet. The ChoixVert Information Card is not intended to facilitate or generate a financial transaction in any way. Nor is the information card used to “login” to anything. The information card represents your eco-diligent identity. It allows you to see the socially responsible entities on the Internet as you work or play.
When an organization is registered in the ChoixVert Information Card dataset, a green thumb print will display on search results for that company or on the company’s web site.
The purpose of the ChoixVert Information Card is to empower the cardholder in obtaining knowledge concerning the social responsibility of entities on the Internet.
The ChoixVert Information Card is being introduced in two phases. Phase one is a “proof of concept phase, and is in process now. Phase two is the “production phase,” and will be introduced in the summer of 2009.

The mantra of Project ChoixVert is “cultivate social responsibility.” This lofty mantra is accomplished using information card technology in a unique and powerful way. This method is meant to introduce the power of using available technology to identify eco-diligent companies.
This is the start of something big. Project ChoixVert empowers you to choose what role you want to play in the future of our planet and to choose what sort of commitment you have to leaving a clean and pure planet legacy to our future—the children.
