- There have been several studies recently indicating that companies can save up to 50% of their IT power requirements by properly managing their corporate computers power settings and policies. The benefit in power savings also translates into environmental benefits and many power companies are giving rebates to companies who can show that they have reduced power consumption.
The tools we are creating allow companies to remotely set and manage those power policies, including turning the machines completely off after hours. The real strength our our product is in its integration with a PC lifecycle management product, Altiris/Symantec Deployment Solution, in such a way as to allow the normal maintenance work that frequently occurs after hours without completely negating either the management operations or the power management policies.

- The book is "Jack Knife," which was published in 2007 by Penguin. It's pure popcorn, but it did well and I wrote it for the fun of it, so I suppose that's only appropriate.
